Sunny Johnson-Lemieux

Jeremy “Jah Sunny” Johnson-LeMieux (also known as Sunny Johnson-Lemeuix) is a Detroit-born fine artist, muralist, portraitist, DJ, and yoga teacher whose creative journey spans multiple mediums and cultural traditions. He holds a BFA from Wayne State University and an Associate’s in Graphic Design from Ann Arbor, and his radiant art—ranging from devotional and psychedelic works to black-light murals—graces homes, businesses, festivals, and public spaces worldwide.

Rooted in Detroit’s multicultural energy, Sunny fuses African, Caribbean, Rastafari, and spiritual Islamic and Coptic influences to create work with spiritual resonance, aiming to imbue viewers with “baraka” or blessing.

He has been published in the UK’s Rastafari HeART books (Volumes 1–3), had his murals featured at Detroit’s Plaza Antiques and Collectibles, and produced yoga- and devotional-themed art tied to Song of the Morning and Golden Lotus Yoga Teacher Association.

Beyond visual art, Sunny served a decade as a rhythm guitarist for the Ann Arbor Dub Project, DJ’d vinyl across Michigan and beyond, led spiritual retreats and ecstatic dance events, and shared sacred yoga and meditation practices through the Golden Lotus Yoga Teachers Association.
